PC Moss Parkin, patrolling Fickley village late at night, notices a shop door left open and investigates - and finds a puzzling burglary.

Parkin is suspicious when a man comes in and confesses to murder - is he being taken for a fool?

PC Moss Parkin is sure that Jack Kenny, wanted in connection with a theft at a nearby hotel, will have gone into hiding at his mother's house.

Are Parkin and Radley really onto something when they both suspect Mr Henderson, the local insurance agent?

A husband reports his wife missing, and Parkin quickly finds that he was not the only person to have seen her in the company of another man.

Parkin is called on to help Sergeant Eldridge of the military police, but has little sympathy for his harsh attitude.

Parkin comes to the help of three men whose car has broken down, and who have their own reason for wanting to be on their way.

Four teenage boys steal a car from outside the local cinema, but matters become more serious when they knock down a pedestrian.

When a local girl arrives at the police house late at night claiming to have been attacked, Parkin has to decide whether to take her complaint seriously.

Is Ron Radley jumping to conclusions when he suspects well-known local villain Danny Shea of fraud?

Beth Parkin is alone late at night when she is disturbed by some noise downstairs; going to investigate she confronts an intruder in the police office.

Parkin, while out for the evening with Beth, is asked if he can look into the pilfering of stock from a pub.

Radley disagrees with Parkin over the investigation of a theft, and thinks him too ready to side with his neighbours in the village.

Parkin stops an itinerant tramp following a number of petty thefts is the village, but finds he has the solution to the disappearance of a pensioner.

Parkin has to make unpopular decisions when supervising the sale of livestock at the local market.

The return to Fickley of a newly released criminal causes alarm among the villagers, but Parkin is limited in what he can do.

The chance sighting by Parkin of a known criminal interests DC Radley, who tries to anticipate his next move.

24. It's Got to Be Local

Parkin and Radley investigate the theft of cash from a small shop, which has left the elderly owner deeply shaken.

25. The Link

Having been alerted of a gang of burglars likely to be in the area, Parkin is surprised when DC Radley takes little interest in a break-in.

26. Two Gentlemen Standing

Moss has to deal with a Chief Inspector from Scotland Yard, called in to assist with the investigation into the theft of a painting.
