As the stranded heroes begin uncovering the secrets of their strange new world, they learn that Charlotte’s forces are opposed by a mysterious faction known as the rogues, while powerful enemies threaten to tear the realm apart. After joining forces with Charlotte, Shovel Knight, Cuphead, Madeline, and the Knight, and meet new friends and foes from across the multiverse as they try to find a way home. Meanwhile, Frisk has their work cut out for them by a new murderous foe, forcing Frisk to form an unexpected alliance of their own to survive.

After being separated from Shield Knight by Charlotte, Shovel Knight finds himself stranded in a strange wasteland alongside Cuphead, while other heroes from different worlds are drawn into the same mysterious realm; Madeline, Badeline, the Knight, and Frisk. As the strangers’ paths increasingly intersect, allies and enemies are made amid the chaos and confusion.
